Hi, I'm Jae - your Personal Travel Manager.
My Industry Experience
Some say my travel career was foreshadowed throughout my childhood. I would take it upon myself to craft pictorial guides to wherever it was we were going next, then print them out and share them with everyone in the group.
Through high school, studying Travel and Tourism was no surprise, it’s also where I found my love for Japan and international culture.
My first travel role was in the corporate world; booking business and leisure travels for a private firm. After a few years in this role, I was encouraged to step into the retail travel world and took on a role with Flight Centre Travel Group, which allowed me to learn more about the industry faster than I ever had before.
I was lucky to meet so many new people, learn about incredible destinations, and experience numerous supplier and provider services, first hand.
Backed with an abundance of knowledge and a network of people from all walks of life, I moved away from big travel corporations, joining the Travel Execs team!
Now, I’m able to combine my experiences from both the retail and corporate world, to focus on working with professional and business owners to create unique travel experiences and memorable journeys for their families and friends.
My Travel Experience
I’ve been so lucky to have started travelling from a young age!
First blessed with countless road trips, through parts of our beautiful country. I’ve more than a few favourite memories of these trips. One was sitting in the midnight air at an almost desolate hotel in Goulburn with my mother and the hotel owner, creating star trail images which were then used on memento post cards! Another was following in the foot steps of the infamous Ned Kelly, from his grave in Greta, right through Beechworth, the last stand at Glen Rowan, right down to his final moment in Melbourne Gaol.
Cruising was my next love. Over the last few years, I’ve cruised on a handful of lines, visiting some of our closest neighbours throughout the South Pacific. Only in 2015, I ventured overseas, taking my first ever flight to Japan, where I spent 3 weeks touring and living in a home stay; cementing the 5 years previous I had spent studying the Japanese language and culture.
From there it’s been a whirlwind – bitten by the travel bug some might say. In a few short months following my Japan trip, I had touched down in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Dubai, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Koh Samui. A year I’ll never forget.
Through all my travel, this far, I’ve discovered just how special “unique” destinations are. Some of fondest memories I have, are from Kariba, Zimbabwe, home of the ultimate African sunset, and in the back streets of Asian hubs like Kowloon and Asakusa, some of the finest places to full immerse in local life and people watching.
The fun is just starting, there’s so much more of the world to see. I, whole heartedly believe, you can never fully “see” a destination by visiting just once. With each new visit, comes new opportunities to experience differently.
This belief helps me to create remarkable travel experiences for those who I have the pleasure in working with. All the photos above are ones that I have personally taken while travelling.
